Vivisimo was named to the EContent 100, EContent magazine’s eighth annual list of “companies that matter most in the digital content industry.” The list was published in the December issue. This is the sixth consecutive year Vivisimo was recognized among industry leaders in the search engines & technologies category by EContent ( http://www.econtentmag.com). The inclusion of Vivisimo in the EC100 list marks a year in which the company continued building momentum as a leader in the enterprise search industry.

Recommind has announced that Littler Mendelson has selected Recommind’s MindServer(TM) platform to power its SharePoint portal search. Designed to help law firms quickly and accurately identify, retrieve and share information from internal and external sources across disparate offices, MindServer Enterprise Search and Matters & Expertise is being integrated with SharePoint portal and deployed as part of company-wide initiative to enhance the Littler Mendelson’s knowledge management resources. The Recommind implementation will provide the employment litigation firm’s more than 750 attorneys across 45 offices with one centralized location to securely and accurately access their valuable information.
Google Inc. has upgraded its Mini enterprise search tool, including new capabilities to improve the relevance of results and extend the reach of the product. The Mini is Google’s lower end search appliance for firms looking to search up to 300,000 documents. The latest version includes the ability to search files and documents stored on shared drives, and support for six more languages - Basque, Catalan, Galician, Greek, Hungarian, and Polish. Google Mini also features new technology which allows users to sort results by date or source.
Google has begun experimenting with a new cross-language ability for its Search Appliance, a server customers can use to power their in-house search service. Many of our enterprise search customers have dozens of offices all over the world with tens of millions documents indexed in a host of different languages. Cross-Language Enterprise Search instantly translates your Google Search Appliance query from one language to one or more other languages using Google’s best-in-class translation engine. Existing customers can try the feature by downloading it through Google Enterprise Labs.
