Recommind has announced that Littler Mendelson has selected Recommind’s MindServer(TM) platform to power its SharePoint portal search. Designed to help law firms quickly and accurately identify, retrieve and share information from internal and external sources across disparate offices, MindServer Enterprise Search and Matters & Expertise is being integrated with SharePoint portal and deployed as part of company-wide initiative to enhance the Littler Mendelson’s knowledge management resources. The Recommind implementation will provide the employment litigation firm’s more than 750 attorneys across 45 offices with one centralized location to securely and accurately access their valuable information.
SIP Print, the creators of the first affordable SIP-based VoIP call recording platform, has announced the launch of its newly established channel partner program. The SIP Print Partner Program (SIPPPP) is designed to provide partners with high margins, and features simplicity and ease-of-entry for telephony resellers and data VARS that primarily serve small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The program aims to simplify selling SIP Print’s VoIP call recording appliances in combination with IP-based phone systems. As a channel-focused organization, SIP Print does not sell direct or through small business solutions in retail outlets.
French search company Exalead has updated its enterprise search product to simplify for the search of unstructured information for workers the servers of their company. The new brand, CloudView makes the search easier for enterprise users by making them more accessible to the cloud of data. It can be on their system, on the company’s server or on the Internet. Incorporation of this external data into the searches is what the offering is all about.
Spurred by moves from its biggest rival, Microsoft Corp., and by a burst of offerings from a clutch of innovative startups, Google is tossing more resources at burgeoning enterprise search tools. While in some cases the company is applying techniques and technologies from its consumer Web searches, in others it is bringing new products and new marketing methods to win over business customers. According to Nitin Mangtani, lead product manager for Google’s enterprise search group, enterprise search is moving beyond being just an afterthought to becoming a competitive advantage and a way for businesses to attract and retain customers.
